Parents - a chance to talk about your experiences of SED

Postby rubyslippers » 07 May 2010, 21:50

Hello, my name is Caroline Jordan. I am conducting research into parent’s experiences of having a child with selective eating as part of my postgraduate master’s degree in health psychology and I would like to invite you to take part.

I would like you to help me understand what it is like to be a parent of a child who is a selective eater and the impact of your child’s eating patterns on you and your family. I want to hear about your experiences of getting help from and communicating your situation to health professionals (such as GP’s, health visitors’, paediatricians’, dieticians’ etc.). I would also like to hear about your experience of using an online support group. The research involves taking part in an anonymous and confidential online interview; this is because unlike filing in a questionnaire, answering questions will give you the opportunity to give me very detailed information about everything that is important to you and enables me to clarify and therefore fully understand what you have to tell me.

If you think you might be interested please contact me via a private message on this forum or email me at c.jordan@derby.ac.uk and I will send you further information. To maintain your anonymity you can set up an anonymous email address to use if you prefer. If you contact me for information about this research you are under no obligation to take part.

Thank you for your time
Caroline

I have now stopped recruiting people for this research.

I have been overwhelmed by the response to my plea for participants and would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contacted me for information and a special thank you to those who took part and those who have offered to help with my future research.

Anyone who is interested in taking part in future research, my email address is now carolinejordan@hotmail.co.uk
