At last we're not alone!

Postby janie » 08 Mar 2010, 19:21

Hoorah, there are people who understand my daughter's eating disorder at last!

My daughter is 15 and all her life she has had a severely restricted diet. I have spent 10 years trying to find a solution only to be met with dieticians who only tell me what a healthy balanced diet is (as if I didn't know) to CAMHS professionals who just have no idea of the problem. I've been made to feel like a weak idiot mum who feeds her daughter rubbish and on occasions as if I have Munhausen's syndome. I cannot tell you all what a relief it is to find this forum.

Oh my word Janie, I couldn't agree with you more! My friends are so disapproving and often make comments like " give him a week at my house and I'll sort him out". I often feel like such a bad parent when we go out for meals and my son will only eat chips, and refuse ketchup if it's not Heinz while my friends children tuck into pasta, salads, roast dinners etc.
It is sooooooo good to finally find others in the same boat. How does your daughter manage if she goes to friends for tea?
